DAEG

DAEG means dawn and this rune is all about the first glimmer of morning light after a long dark night. It is quite literally the dawn of realisation and dawn when everything looks bright and new.

It signifies that something wonderful has happened to us or is about to. A dramatic life change is coming and we can feel the tingle of anticipation that precedes it, just as we can see , the first light that precedes the Sunrise.

The mystery encapsulated by the Daeg rune is that while light and darkness may appear to be opposites in our material world, they are in fact aspects of the same reality. One cannot exist without the other and the seeds of knowledge and wisdom are fertilised in the dark.

Daeg is the true nature of things as seen in the clear light of dawn. As the Sun rises so a new day begins and our journey must also begin anew. The wise one is once more the fool setting out on the journey through the maze to the centre to find himself.
